Top News and Magazines Apps on Android in Latin America - Q4 2024

In the fourth quarter of 2024, the performance of leading news and magazine applications on the Android platform in Latin America displayed diverse trends. This analysis, based on Sensor Tower data, highlights the key metrics for some of the top apps in this category.

X (Formerly Twitter) saw a notable increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $74K in early December. Weekly downloads fluctuated, with a high of around 382K in the first week of October, while weekly active users remained relatively stable, starting the quarter at about 42M and ending at 45M.

Opera News: breaking & local experienced a decline in weekly downloads, beginning at 75K and dropping to just under 2.5K by the end of December. Active users also decreased over the quarter, from 1.25M to 802K.

Notícias Locais maintained a consistent weekly revenue of around $30, with downloads starting at 77K and decreasing to 39K. Active users, however, increased from 703K to 839K by the end of the quarter.

Noticias Locales showed a strong increase in weekly downloads towards the end of the quarter, peaking at 71K. Active users saw a significant rise, starting at 683K and reaching over 1.3M by the end of December.

O Trabalhador experienced a sharp decline in weekly downloads from 75K to 19K. Active users fluctuated, ending the quarter at 58K, down from a mid-quarter peak of over 104K.
